Christina! Pay attention!

Christina lives for riding – she even daydreams about it at school. She used to have her own pony, Duke, but he had to be sold when her dad died. Now she can only occasionally ride her best friend Jodie’s pony.

Then one day, at a horse sale, she sees a sad, scruffy grey, with a white star on his forehead. Can it be Duke? What’s happened to him? Can she get him back?

At last, Christina is allowed to keep Duke for good. Nursing him back to health is a labour of love. She and Jodie practice for the Essex Show; working hard at their jumping. The day of the Show dawns and all seems to be going so well. Then Duke is spooked at a jump. Is that it, all the hard work gone to waste? Will there be a happy ending?
