Widely sought after for her paintings of Tuscan landscapes and scenery, Liz Graham-Yooll is also well known for her whimsical animal studies and book illustrations.
Born in Pembroke, Wales, Liz was educated in England, studied at Bournemouth Art College, England, worked for several years in advertising and publishing before going to Italy to study painting in Florence. She later made her home in Tuscany as a full time painter. She has exhibited at the Royal Academy and galleries in London, Salisbury and Bath as well as in the United States and Italy.
As well as illustrating other writer's books, she has written and illustrated her own popular children's books published in Britain and the United States.
Living with her husband, balloonist Robert Etherington, in a 13th century mill deep in the Tuscan countryside outside the picturesque village of Montisi, Liz is familiar with medieval Italian decorative techniques and has worked on the restoration of medieval buildings in Tuscany.
During summer months she conducts painting courses, evening and residential, which combine art with pleasure, wine and laughter.
